Delete your account

Delete in the app

This is the quickest way, and it works in the ReadPals app on a phone or tablet and in your web browser.

• Sign in, then tap the grown-ups button and answer the grown-up check.
• Open Settings and tap Delete account.
• Answer the grown-up check once more, type DELETE, and confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out on that device. Only want to remove one child? With that reader chosen, open Settings and tap Delete with their name.

Ask us by email

No app handy? Email hello@readpals.com from the email address you use to sign in, and let us know you’d like your account deleted. Writing from that address helps us know the request is really yours. If you can’t, we may ask a question or two to confirm.

We’ll delete the account and reply to let you know it’s done, usually within a few days and no later than 30 days after we confirm your request.

What gets deleted

• Your account, including your email address and sign-in details.
• Every reader profile on the account.
• All learning progress, lesson history, and practice results.
• The record of how your family found ReadPals.

Usage measurements from the app can no longer be connected to you or your readers once the account is gone.

What we keep, and for how long

A few things stay for a short, limited time, as our Privacy Policy describes:

• Backups may still hold deleted information for up to 14 days.
• Recordings of spoken answers and technical logs are kept for no more than 14 days in any case.
• Emails with our team, including a deletion request, are kept for up to two years after the request is resolved.
• A de-identified note that the Terms and Privacy Policy were accepted, with nothing that links it back to you.
• Legal, fraud-prevention, or safety records, only in the rare case one is reasonably needed.

Deleting an account can’t be undone. You’re always welcome to start a new one later.
