A daily phonics lesson for every child in your homeschool.
ReadPals gives each of your children a short, playful phonics lesson planned from what they have just shown they can do. You choose when reading happens, and ReadPals keeps track of which sounds each child knows and what comes next.
Phonics that fits your homeschool day
An easy daily routine
Each lesson is one short, flowing session that works on a handful of skills, so it slips into a morning basket, quiet time, or the wait before lunch. Instructions are spoken aloud, so a child who cannot read yet can play on their own while you work with a sibling.
Every child at their own level
Add a reader for each child under one grown-up account. Each child picks their own tile on the “Who’s playing?” screen and gets lessons planned from their own answers, so a preschooler on first sounds and an older sibling on vowel teams can both read the same morning.
Progress you can see
The grown-up area shows each child’s reading map: the sounds and words they have learned, what they are practicing, what comes next, and how many of the last seven days they played. Every finished lesson lists what was learned and practiced, which makes a note in your own records quick to write.
Fits beside your phonics curriculum
ReadPals follows a systematic phonics sequence, from first letter sounds and three-sound words through digraphs, blends, magic e, vowel teams, and longer words, with tricky heart words along the way. Use it as daily practice next to the program you teach, or let it carry phonics for a young reader.
How a homeschool week can look
Find each child’s starting point
Start from the very first sounds, or choose “Find my level” and pick where your child is: learning sounds, reading words, reading sentences, or reading short stories. A few quick examples suggest a level, and you can start a little earlier or a little ahead.
Read a little most days
Short, regular lessons are what make sounds stick. ReadPals plans each next lesson from what your child just showed, bringing in a new sound when they are ready and returning to earlier skills before they fade.
Check in when you plan the week
Open the reading map to see what each child has learned and what is coming up. Add focus words from a book you are reading together, and ReadPals weaves them into practice when they fit what your child is ready to learn.
For a quick warm-up, or a turn for a younger sibling, the free phonics games need no account: try Letter Trace for handwriting, Stretchy Blend for blending, or Story Time for a little story. Planning reading at home? Read our guides to decodable reading practice and help for struggling readers.
